Our Commitment to Safety

Each mission is backed by a team of pilots, maintenance technicians, and support crews that receive continuous training in their fields of expertise. This ongoing education includes state-of-the-art flight simulator training and detailed emergency procedures instruction.

Our maintenance crews are continually trained to meet the high standards of our Company, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and numerous aircraft manufacturer training programs. Our Company utilizes advanced diagnostic techniques, a comprehensive computerized inventory program for spare parts, and a sophisticated record-keeping system. Our company employs the best trained maintenance crews to ensure the fleet is in the finest mechanical condition.

We own and maintain modern offshore and onshore fuel facilities with updated dual filtering systems, which ensure clean quality fuel, “go/no-go” monitoring, spill containment and emergency automatic shut-off fuel systems. Fuel quality is checked and logged daily at each fuel facility. The quality of bulk fuel is also checked both at the supplier and again prior to its transfer into our fuel facilities.

Our management philosophy was founded on an unwavering commitment to safety excellence in every aspect of its operations. In January 2005, we adopted a Safety Management System (SMS), which focuses on safety training, evaluation, and communications. Our management is strongly committed to safety in all aspects of its operation. The company has adopted a Safety Management System that focuses on training, evaluation, communication and follow up in all matters related to safety.

We are also a founding member of TOPS. TOPS stands for the Tour Operators Program of Safety. It is an organization to hold higher standards than what are required to obtain the highest standard of safety possible. The TOPS mission is to provide the public with access to scenic areas while in the care of good, safe and professional helicopter air tour operators. TOPS also states that “The effectiveness of the TOPS Program of Safety is well proven by the statistics gathered since 1996. In a typical year, professional helicopter tour operators in the US fly some 100,000 tour hours, of which about 85,000 hours are flown by TOPS members. TOPS members have a cumulative safety record much better than that of general aviation at large. For example, during 2003, TOPS members experienced 1.13 accidents per 100,000 air tour hours, compared with 9.98 accidents per 100,000 flying hours for the civil helicopter fleet at large.
